How can you change the world? Start in your Garage…

Or I guess you can just start on the Home Page.

I am going to give you a quick run-through on how the site works. Of course we have tutorials on the site, but this was the first one I created so I am keeping it out of nostalgia. We hope to add some fun video tutorials soon, but for now this should give you a good idea of how you can get started making the world more efficient.

Here is a screen shot of our home page. You will normally come here first, and then figure out where to go next. What would you like to do? Do you want to search for items in your area to borrow? Borrowing items can save a lot of money, as well as save you the headache and annoyance of storage. Getting started is simple.

Home Page

The process is easy. It is basically Find Click Rent. First you need to find what is available. There are three ways to do this.

You can search by category, and see all items available in that category. Or you can search by your area, which uses maps to allow you to see everything that is available in your geographic area. Or you can do an advanced search, which allows you to combine those two options plus add others. Either way it is as simple as a few clicks.

Once you have your search results, you will see a page like this. You will notice that the results come up organized by how close they are to you. Additionally you can see such valuable information as how other people have rated the lender, and the rental prices.

Too many options? Pick a few by clicking on the little check box on the left, and you can view those separately on another screen.

On the right you can see exact dates when this item is available using the calendar function.

Once you have chosen to view a particular item, you can see much more detail. This page allows you to read specific information about the item you searched for, browse pictures, and review the delivery options the lender has made available.

Want to see the picture better? You mean you can’t see all the details in that small box? Well we were prepared with a nice little feature that makes the pictures bigger. Imagine that!

Want to know more about the lender? Check out their personal profile page where you can see their pictures, review their rental history, and see what else they have available.

Once you have chosen an item, or anytime you want to see all of your own information in one place, go to your myRent page. This page shows you a list of to-do items, like leaving feedback on the last thing you rented. Also it is an easy way to view your rental history, or keep track of the items that you have rented out. Most anything you need to do for your account can be done from this page (the picture doesn’t really do it justice).

So you want to rent some of your stuff out? That’s great! We have made it as easy as possible, creating this slick little lending wizard that will take you through each step of the way. I was going to put a screen shot of every step, but… I still can if you want me to! I guess what would be better is for you to just go there and try loading something. Yeah, that’s much better.

Just can’t possibly get enough of reading about iRent2u? Got questions and ideas that are burning a hole in your brain? Or perhaps you just love Knowledge Bases and FAQ’s.
